Update: Sooo... It's Been A While.

I know I have been on hiatus. I have just graduated from college and had a dry spell when it came to not only this blog but my music in general. In fact yesterday (February 23, 2011) was the first thing I have written in a good three months. And for some reason I found it hard to stop writing. I wrote for hours on end. I don't know why, but it was inspiring. Yes I spent the whole day indoors ingesting quick-fix foods like Ramen to fuel my stomach so I didn't have to waste time making food. I was at my laptop practically all day. It was quite refreshing in a way.


And I am going to update my blog more often with random posts. I even thought of a little format for daily blogs concerning myself and music in general. Of course, I might miss some days but I will try to make those gaps of time in between posts as short as possible. I want to maintain consistency not only with this blog but my music as well. 


So listed below are the ideas for daily posts. They won't come everyday but they are at least interesting thematic material I can use to form a post. 


Monday: "New" Music Monday
This isn't exactly an analyzation of a recently released new song or artist. This can mean a random song that I discovered that can be as old as time and I will record my thoughts on what I thought and felt upon first listen. Some say that the best part of finding a favorite song is the discovery of it and I tend to figure that out.

Tuesday: Testimony Tuesday
This day will probably be a short little success story and testimonial, which may at times be totally music unrelated. However it can serve as a little hint of inspiration for some time in the future.

Wednesday: WORD UP!...Wednesday
A play on the Cameo hit, yes. But WORD UP! Wednesday will be a short collection of random lyrics or quotations. Words are power.

Thursday: Throwback Thursday
Basically what I'm going to do with this section is YouTube a song from at least from 5 years ago and refresh it in the reader's minds. This section will have different kinds of music represented, from one-hit wonders to little known songs to huge hits from the past.

Friday: Foto Friday
Mainly non-music related, this section will take a photo (mainly that I have Googled or photographed myself). It breaks up the blog with some visual posting and commentary.

Saturday: Saturday Check-In
Yes, I know this day comes with no alliteration. Eh, so what? This is my end-of-the-week check-in on how I am doing as far as making progress on a music project personally. Who knows? I might post some workings of mine.

Sunday: Spotlight Sunday
This day I plan to use interviewing one of my peers or colleagues in the arts. Don't expect A-list musicians because that's not going to happen (at least not now). I plan on interviewing them about their talents, passions, dreams, and random questions I can come up with. These can be singers, composers, other writers, visual artists, music teachers, or whoever has a minute to chat.

I'm excited on further progressing the nature of this blog and I hope to get regular readers or even passerbys that feel intrigued, inspired, or interested by my words and posts. And I hope to look back to these postings and feel good about how I've progressed as an artist.
